What happened in Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Episode 1?

Two new soul reapers went sent to Karakura town for watchful duty. There is an issue of missing hollows and the disappearance of people from the Rukon district. The shinigami stationed were attacked but thankfully we have Ichigo Kurosaki to save the day.
Let’s not forget Ishida Uryu, Chad and Orihime Inoue to help fight the hollows. Ichigo Kurosaki is greeted with hostility by a mysterious character Ebern Asguiaro (Ivan Azgiaro in the manga) who mocks Kurosaki Ichigo for a fight.
Ichigo being the king of sass kicks him out of his bed (you don’t mess with Ichigo Kurosaki) and unleashes his Bankai.
While Captain Yamamoto is in a difficult situation with intruders attacking Vice Captain Sasakibe. The intruders declared war on Soul Society in Five days.
The intruders identified themselves as the Wandenreich challenging Yamamoto they would annihilate the Soul Society.
Thankfully, the fight between Kurosaki Ichigo and Ebern doesn’t end up serious for Ichigo as he defeats him with his Bankai. A frustrated Ebern lashes out as he is unable to steal Ichigo’s Bankai.

We do get to see Wandenreich’s leader Yhwach make his stellar appearance in Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War Episode 1.
It was quite nostalgic to see everything captured in the closing credits with all the previous characters.
As usual, the gathering in Ichigo’s room was one of the best! Orihime is cheerful as ever, Chad is the quiet one in the group and Uryu bickering with Ishida.
Nothing has changed yet every one of them has gradually matured. They aren’t the powerless 15-year-old kids anymore. The shocked face of the new shinigami nursed back to health by Ichigo Kurosaki was one of the priceless moments in Episode 1.
