Deadpool 3 Rumored Cameos – A Marvel Blockbuster Rundown

If there is one movie just about every comic book fan is excited about heading into 2024, it’s Deadpool 3. Truth be told, its significance cannot and should not be ignored given the sheer number of exciting things its arrival on July 26th holds. A sequel to both 2018’s comic book masterpiece Deadpool and Deadpool 2, the film will mark Deadpool, AKA the Merc with the Mouth’s official entry into the MCU, as played to perfection by Ryan Reynolds.

And of course, what would the arrival of a film like this be without heaps of fanfare, excitement, and most importantly, speculation? Indeed, the hype is through the roof regarding the upcoming 3rd entry in the Deadpool franchise, as it’s yet another film focusing on the current trend both in and out of the MCU; The Multiverse. For those keen-eyed fans, Wade Wilson got his hands on Cable’s time-traveling device in Deadpool 2, which he used to undo a lot of stuff, resulting in some of the most hilarious scenes in the entire film. To that end, there are tons of Deadpool 3 rumored cameos to go through. So much to talk about.

Deadpool 3 Rumored Cameos: Confirmed Characters and What We Know So Far

Now, with characters both rumored and confirmed, there’s a lot to talk about regarding the Deadpool 3 rumored cameos, so let’s dive right into it.

Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool

Marvel

Leading the charge and headlining this movie is Ryan Reynolds’ wise-cracking merc. Not only does he make his return to this beloved franchise but this also marks his debut in the MCU. At the end of Deadpool 2 we see him use Cable’s time-traveling device, which leads us to believe he will use this very same device to navigate the multiverse and shenanigans will ensue.

Reynolds’ charming wit and penchant for quick-on-his-feet banter have always made him a star suited for this role, regardless of how he was portrayed in X-Men Origins: Wolverine way back in the day. It’s interesting to ponder just where Wade Wilson’s journey will take him on a deeper level, but on the flip side of that, we can also expect to hear some hilarious timeline jokes just as we did in the 1st film.

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine
Marvel

This is it. This is the big one. The one that has every single person excited. Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is without a doubt one of the biggest things fans have wanted to see in a Deadpool movie, especially since Reynolds nailed the character in that 2018 film. Unfortunate timings and Jackman’s decision to (at the time anyway) retire from the role with one final outing; Logan, did leave fans a bit disappointed despite an amazing finale to a character he’s played for 23 years.

Mainly because this meant that we might not get that much-anticipated team-up. But Ryan Reynolds is not one to quit, and that brings us here. It’s important to note though that this version of Wolverine might not be the one we knew, given that he’s rocking the iconic comic book-accurate yellow outfit pretty much every fan wanted to see Jackman in all along. That is if those Deadpool 3 rumored cameos are to be believed.

This suggests that while Reynolds has no intention of undoing the tearjerker of a finale from Logan, this version might be an alternate one, with elements from say, the iconic 90s animated series.

Logan’s tangled with Deadpool in the comic books, so fans are very excited to see them tussle and team up on the big screen.

Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle

Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle
Marvel

Morena Baccarin played Wade Wilson’s love interest Vanessa Carlysle in both Deadpool and Deadpool 2, and the movie just wouldn’t be the same without her return. Vanessa served as an anchor for Wade and was incredibly important to his character. Though she was initially killed off very early on in Deadpool 2, Wade does use the time-traveling device he acquired from Cable to save her. So she is indeed confirmed for the sequel, and it’d be interesting to see how she factors into the story of this movie. With Deadpool 3 being a very fish-out-of-water story as described by writer Rhett Reese, Wade would need his support and anchor more than ever.

Stefan Kapičić as Colossus

The foil to Wade Wilson’s less-than-squeaky-clean way of dispatching bad guys and saving the day is Colossus voiced by Stefan Kapičić. He too is confirmed for the upcoming sequel, which is nothing short of exciting given how much care was put into bringing the character to life for the Deadpool flicks. Kapičić brings the Russian X-Man to life with a lovely performance. This version of Colossus has been cited by fans as being very close to the comics, so it’s great to see that we’ll have Colossus return for one more adventure as Wade Wilson finds himself in the depths of the multiverse.

Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead

Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead
Marvel

Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead was an absolute standout in both Deadpool films, and she is confirmed for this one, too. With the winning formula involving Wade getting some help from the X-Men, she fits that role of the pesky, punk rock, and irritable superhero quite well and it’ll be a real treat to see her return to the fold with Deadpool 3. Originally a minor character appearing in the Astonishing X-Men comic book, the mutant was instead turned into a member of the X-Men’s younger heroes, under Colossus’ training for the film. In Deadpool 2, she’s a full-time member of the X-Men and is dating Yukio.

Shioli Kutsuna as Yukio

Deadpool 2 introduced us to a new character, Yukio. While a previous version of the character was first seen in The Wolverine, this version is both an X-Man and Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s partner. The Kutsuna won the hearts of all fans with her adorable charm and innocent, sweet demeanor.

Fans can look forward to probably more of her bubbly nature and perhaps more quips between her and Wade this time around.

Karan Soni as Dopinder

Karan Soni has been on the rise, having secured himself the role of Pavitr Prabhakar in this year’s acclaimed Across the Spider-Verse, and will now be reprising his role as Dopinder, Deadpool’s defacto chauffeur. Soni was one of the best parts of that first movie, playing a character Ryan Reynolds said he based off of an old friend of his. He too is confirmed to return to the fold for the highly anticipated movie in the franchise.

Leslie Uggams as Blind Al

Leslie Uggams as Blind Al
Marvel

Leslie Uggams’ Blind Al was a certified badass in both Deadpool films, and she’s confirmed for the 3rd entry now set in the MCU. While there are a few changes made to her comic book counterpart for the film version, the portrayal and rendition of this character is still genius.

Meeting Wade after a Craigslist mishap, Blind Al is Wade’s roommate and the 2 have a really funny and strange relationship. She helps Wade shoulder the burden of his condition and the loss of Vanessa, and the 2 share a love of IKEA furniture. Wade’s jokes and her tough, sassy nature are a good match and make for some of the funniest moments in both films. When Wade loses Vanessa, she gives him some good advice, telling him not to let it stop him from living the rest of his life.

Blind Al has ties to British Intelligence before meeting Wade, and it’s unknown at this moment if the upcoming entry in the MCU will explore any of that. That said, fans can expect some witty banter between the 2.

Rob Delaney as Peter

Perhaps the best of the returning cast, or well, certainly the most hilarious would be Rob Delaney’s Peter. Everyone’s favorite member of the X-Force, Peter showed up to a recruitment session held by Wade and his friend Weasel in Deadpool 2, and Peter decided to show up despite having no superpowers or really any context for the upcoming mission. He just saw the ad and showed up.

Aside from possessing both type 1 and 2 Diabetes, he had pretty much nothing in terms of a skillset. However, he did have plenty of heart, which he demonstrated when trying to save Zeitgeist, the mutant with the ability to spit acid….which he does…directly on Peter, seemingly killing him.

Deadpool would go on to save him using the same time-traveling device in the post-credits scene, much to everyone’s delight. Now we get to see the return of the King in Deadpool 3.

Dogpool

Part of the Deadpool Corps in the comics, Dogpool is officially confirmed to make an appearance in Deadpool 3. This was confirmed by Reynolds himself as he shared a picture of him with the adorable dog actor Peggy.

The X-Men and Deadpool’s Origins

X-Men Origins
Marvel

Deadpool was born out of Wade Wilson’s desire to cure himself of cancer, leading him to undergo a rogue experiment that disfigured him but gifts him with a healing factor not unlike Wolverine’s. One factor that’s always been intriguing about Deadpool whether it’s the comics, his own video game, or the films is how integrated he can be at times with the X-Men.

In the movies, Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (and later even Yukio) contribute to this, as well as a sneaky cameo from the prequel trilogy of X-Men films in Deadpool 2, all but certify their presence in the Deadpool story. So, with set photos revealing Wolverine and Deadpool fighting atop a crumbling 20th Century Fox logo, it seems like the X-Men’s entire timeline of events is gonna be a factor in this movie.

To continue the speculation around the Deadpool 3 rumored cameos further set photos have also revealed both Toad and Sabertooth, looking very much like their X-Men (2000) counterparts as being part of the movie. All of this fuels the meta approach to the story even further. Even further still, Deadpool 3 rumored cameos suggest Hugh Jackman playing multiple versions of Wolverine, which is gonna tie into the multiverse even further. One might argue that this could be the proper ‘intro’ to the mutants in the MCU given how sporadically the MCU has been using mutant and X-Men characters.

From turning Kamala Khan into a mutant to having Professor X appear in Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness, complete with an orchestral version of the 90s cartoon’s titular theme all suggests they’ve been gearing up for a big reveal. That being said, Famke Janssen’s Jean Grey, Halley Berry’s Storm, and James Marsden’s Cyclops are also rumored to be in the film. The same goes for Professor Xavier’s return, as Sir Patrick Stewart has been told to remain on standby.

The Deadpool 3 rumored cameos say Sir Ian McKellen’s Magneto, Channing Tatum’s Gambit (he was working on a Gambit movie that never got made), and Dafne Keen’s X-23, from the movie Logan are all set to appear too. These Deadpool 3 rumored cameos are shaping up to be exciting.

Since mutants don’t exist in the MCU, it’s quite possible that perhaps an event like 2015’s Secret Wars by writer Jonathan Hickman might occur, leading to many different worlds colliding. The resulting hodge-podge of worlds will then integrate mutants into the already-established MCU.

MCU Characters that Might Appear in Deadpool 3

Since Deadpool 3 is the wisecracking mercenary’s intro to the MCU, this begs the question as to who we could see here opposite the Merc with the Mouth. There are indeed a few speculations surrounding the Deadpool 3 rumored cameos and tons of things to talk about on this end.

The TVA

TVA
Marvel

With great multiversal travel comes great pruning, as we all saw in Loki. The Deadpool 3 rumored cameos are alive and well with suggestions of the TVA’s involvement in the upcoming MCU threequel. Some rumors suggest that the TVA is said to be gathering a prime version of every hero to take the fight to Kang, and upon approaching Wolverine, the Canadian berserker doesn’t seem to be entirely on board. This was reported by MyTimeToShineHello on Twitter some time ago.

Owen Wilson as Mobius M. Mobius

The TVA is known to interfere in situations where risks to the timeline are a cause for concern, and if they’re involved in Deadpool 3, then as the Deadpool 3 rumored cameos suggest, Mobius, played by Owen Wilson in Loki could make an appearance as well. This could be an amazing opportunity to see Wilson spend more time among various heroes in the MCU. In the comics, for instance, Mobius helped She-Hulk during an incident involving bringing tons of individuals from back in time, including an at-the-moment dead Hawkeye. Jen would try to prevent his death by cryptically feeding him information on how to avoid it.

Judging from that story, it’s possible that Mobius could lead the charge in finding out what’s happening with Deadpool’s shenanigans. That is if these Deadpool 3 rumored cameos are to be believed.

Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk

She-Hulk
Marvel

Speaking of She-Hulk, Tatiana Maslany most recently brought the Jade Giantess, the Sensational She-Hulk to life in the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Maslany’s Jen Walters is known for breaking the 4th wall as well, something her character in the comic books did before Deadpool. So, it makes sense for her to be there if there’s a big, meta parody of a superhero film involving a self-aware character taking place. Tatiana Maslany and Ryan Reynolds’ immense talent would make for some hilarious scenes between the two, even if they are brief. As far as Deadpool 3 rumored cameos are concerned, it’s a good one.

Both are fantastic performers in their own right and have brought their respective characters to life. Perhaps a witty remark or 2 from Maslany’s Jen Walters would be perfect since like Wade, she too will perhaps be the only other person aware of the events unfolding in the film.

Wunmi Mosaku as Hunter B-15

Hunter B-15
Marvel

Introduced as a force to be reckoned with on Loki, Hunter B-15 (played by Wunmi Mosaku) was once a high-ranking officer of the TVA. She was on the hunt for and eventually did capture Loki. While she’d go on to form an uneasy alliance with him, things took a drastic turn for her character when Sylvie enchanted her, leading her to remember those repressed memories as erased by the TVA.

While this would cause her to go against the TVA, we don’t know if she could still turn up and make an appearance in the upcoming flick. Deadpool 3 rumored cameos suggest she might just make an appearance, too.

Matthew Macfadyen of Succession fame is confirmed to play an as of yet, undisclosed role in Deadpool 3. There is some speculation about the role being a TVA agent named Paradox, but that was confirmed to be false. Though popular scooper CanWeGetSomeToast seems to say it might yet happen, only time will tell.

Blast From the Past: Rumored Pre-MCU Cameos

The multiverse has been a huge phenomenon quickly adopted by not just the MCU, but a lot of media. With movies like Everything Everywhere All At Once giving their own deep, profound takes on the concept as well, it’s safe to say that the Multiverse arc has had quite an impact on Hollywood and creatives alike.

But for the MCU, that concept was quickly explored in Spider-Man: No Way Home as well as Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madness respectively. No Way Home used it as a way to bring over several pre-MCU iterations of both Spider-Men and their villains, creating an epic tale fueled with both, heart and nostalgia galore.

Loki was all about the Multiverse, too as it uses that thread to go in-depth about Loki as a character. Suffice it to say it’s all the rave at the moment, and it’s only gonna get bigger. Reception too seems to be largely positive with some mixed to-negative sentiments thrown in there for good measure, but all that said, what does this mean for Deadpool 3? Well, the Deadpool 3 rumored cameos suggest a ton of characters could be making an appearance.

Well, since FOX’s Superhero properties are now done for here’s a pretty good chance we might see some familiar faces from the early 2000s pop up. Let’s take a look at some of the rumored ones. That said, the amount of Deadpool 3 rumored cameos surrounding these actors and their respective characters is bound to make fans excited.

Jennifer Garner as Elektra

Jennifer Garner as Elektra
Marvel

In an interview at Collider, Jennifer Garner was straight-up asked if she was about to reprise her role in the upcoming Deadpool 3. Garner played coy, but seemingly gave away that she might just be in the film. This opens the door to some hilarity considering both the Daredevil and Elektra spin-off didn’t do the best and fan reception was mixed to negative on them. That said, it’s amazing that we might just get to see these actors play characters from a seemingly bygone era. Per the Deadpool 3 rumored cameos it seems we might see her in the role after all.

Ben Affleck as Daredevil

DareDevil
Marvel

If those Deadpool 3 rumored cameos are to be believed, then this one’s a doozy. Way before Charlie Cox donned the horned mask and matching batons to dish out justice in Hell’s Kitchen, Ben Affleck took up the mantle in 2003’s Daredevil, directed by Mark Steven Johnson. The film covers Matt Murdock’s origin story as he takes the fight to Michael Clarke Duncan’s Kingpin, battling Colin Farrell’s Bullseye in the process while he learns how to be the best hero he can be.

Reception was mixed and fans didn’t quite take to this attempt, making it hard to imagine if he’d return to the role at all. If the rumors are to be believed, though, it looks like Ben Affleck will reprise his role. With Reynolds’ charm, it’s possible that Affleck was on board. He was reportedly seen on set, but there is no information on whether he is gonna be in the film as of now.

Kelsey Grammer as Beast

Beast
Marvel

The Marvels might be underperforming at the box office, but that doesn’t take away its post-credits scene’s importance. At the end of the film Monica Rambeau finds herself in another reality, one where her mother Maria Rambeau is not only alive, but the superhero Binary. In the comics, Binary was one of Carol Danvers’ most incredibly powerful forms, and she was working closely with the X-Men during that time just like in the movie. Fans were shocked, to say the least, when Kelsey Grammer’s Beast showed up, even name-dropping Professor Xavier during the post-credits scene.

Grammer himself has said we might see the character again, and given all that fanfare, Deadpool 3 might just be it. Let’s hope those Deadpool 3 rumored cameos are true about this one.

Celebrity and Unexpected Cameos

But wait, there’s more! The Deadpool 3 rumored cameos make it seem like it’ll be pretty packed with the amount of stuff that’s being rumored to be in the film. From scoops to set photos and celebs making public appearances even remotely related to the film, it’s got people talking. That’s good news for the film, just look at the time leading up to the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Here are a couple of cameos we can expect to see in the film that might surprise you.

Taylor Swift as Dazzler

Taylor

Continuing the Deadpool 3 rumored cameos hype train here, let’s talk Taylor Swift. During the Chiefs’ game, singer and songwriter Taylor Swift was spotted alongside Shawn Levy, Hugh Jackman, and Ryan Reynolds. Of course, seeing this, fans speculated if she’d be in the film. Swift is rumored to play the mutant singer Dazzler and would be a good choice for the role. Shawn Levy, the director of the film played coy on her involvement. He said “I’m going across the board. That’s a ‘no comment’ because that’s a double whammy. That’s Taylor-related. And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy. You’re going to have to wait and see.” That staunchly keeps it in rumor territory, but hey, these Deadpool 3 rumored cameos are crazy, but might just be true.

The Fantastic Four

The Fantastic Four
Marvel

In a series of set photos posted by CanWeGetToast on Twitter, it seems like X-Men villain Toad was driving the Fantasticar with another undisclosed character, leading to the Deadpool 3 rumored cameos suggesting that the 2005-2007 version of the Fantastic Four will make an appearance in the film. Those films starred Chris Evans, Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, and Michael Chiklis as Johnny Storm, Reed Richards, Sue Storm, and Ben Grimm respectively. It’s not confirmed, but it’s possible for sure, as far as the Deadpool 3 rumored cameos are concerned.

Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova

Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova

Emma Corrin is known for her work on The Crown. She has officially been cast in a villain role for Deadpool 3. According to the Deadpool 3 rumored cameos, she’s playing Cassandra Nova. Nova is the twin sister of Charles Xavier. She tried to kill him in the womb only to be destroyed. Having somehow lived on, she spent years rebuilding her body to get revenge on him. While this isn’t confirmed, the X-Men’s vast lore has incredible villains and she is one of them, so this would be a tremendous opportunity to see Cassandra Nova in live-action. This is one of the more interesting bits of information surrounding the Deadpool 3 rumored cameos.

Conclusion:

So, wrapping up, there is a lot of excitement surrounding this movie and it’s completely understandable, too. FOX’s X-Men movies in particular have been part of many fans’ childhoods and the prospect of seeing them in any capacity again, especially in the MCU, is an exciting idea. Not to mention the possibility of bygone FOX superhero properties ala Daredevil and the Fantastic Four all making an appearance for the sake of an uber-meta joke is just fuel for the fans’ enjoyment and excitement. Hype levels are understandably off the charts as fans eagerly await the release of Deadpool 3 on July 26th.

Now, per the rumored cameos, if this is the way the MCU introduces mutants it could change the MCU forever. As for Deadpool’s role in all of this…how does the Merc with the Mouth’s character change, or adapt to the MCU? We’ve been reassured he’ll remain the same despite being a very R-rated character, but we’ll just have to wait and see. At the very least we can get some of the most hilarious jokes based on the timeline shenanigans, that’s something I’m personally looking forward to.
