Senate hits deadlock once more – authorities to stay shut for days

The federal authorities shutdown, now coming into its first full week, has already defied lawmakers’ guarantees of swift decision. After one more failed Senate vote Friday, neither get together has managed to provide the 60 votes wanted to move a short lived funding measure.
