A crypto inventor has filed a authorized malpractice lawsuit in opposition to Covington & Burling, claiming that Covington attorneys failed to offer “exculpatory proof” to prosecutors in a federal legal matter he was going through and later indicted for.
The malpractice suit was filed in Manhattan Supreme Court docket on Friday on behalf of Steven Nerayoff, an early adviser to the blockchain platform Ethereum community. The swimsuit claims that he ”offered proof of his innocence” within the legal matter to Covington attorneys representing him, although was suggested to not share it with prosecutors. The swimsuit names Covington senior counsel Alan Vinegrad and companion Amanda Kramer as his attorneys on the time.
