Appeals court docket clears Penn Nationwide of legal responsibility in $29 million case

In March 2018, the deceased worker’s property initiated a wrongful dying lawsuit, which led to a $9.5 million judgment towards Ortez. Though the lawsuit didn’t explicitly state the employment relationship between the people, it referenced the Nice v. Johnson ruling, which permits lawsuits between staff for acts involving “willful, wanton, and reckless negligence.”
