A Baker McKenzie tax companion has dropped his lawsuit searching for paperwork from the Inside Income Service about its harder insurance policies for auditing partnerships.

George M. Clarke filed a notice that he was voluntarily dismissing the go well with with prejudice Might 17, report Law360 and Reuters. No purpose was given.

Clarke is the chair of Baker McKenzie’s North American tax dispute decision group.

A lawyer who filed the go well with for Clarke refused to remark to Reuters on whether or not the IRS had offered the paperwork.

One of many data sought was a paper mentioned by an IRS worker at a November 2023 convention sponsored by the ABA Part of Taxation. An article concerning the worker’s remarks appeared in Tax Notes with the headline “IRS Taking Partnership Audits to New Degree.”
