Proprietor shares insurer’s reasoning behind non-renewal

“This sort of automobile doesn’t meet our underwriting tips.”
These had been GEICO’s phrases in a letter made public by Tesla Cybertruck proprietor Robert Stevenson when he was notified of the insurer’s determination to not renew protection for the electrical automobile.
Notably, Stevenson has seven different autos on his coverage – all with protection GEICO is ready to present.
“Now we have taken this motion for the next motive(s): We’re unable to insure your 2024 TESLA CYBERTRUCK xxxxxxx as a result of such a automobile doesn’t meet our underwriting tips.”
Stevenson, who described himself as having an “wonderful file,” sees the non-renewal transfer as a choice that “is not sensible,” including that there are autos on the market that he believes are riskier than his Tesla Cybertruck.
Whereas GEICO didn’t elaborate on why it selected to now not cowl Stevenson’s Tesla Cybertruck, Torque Information cited a number of points that would have influenced the choice, together with the time and prices required to get repairs carried out.
