Justice Barrett’s residence focused in tried swatting name

Police responded Wednesday evening to what they thought was a swatting try on the northern Virginia residence of U.S. Supreme Court docket Justice Amy Coney Barrett.
Fairfax County, Virginia, dispatchers obtained a report of “two or three gunshots” and voices arguing at Barrett’s tackle, in accordance with a story by Bloomberg Law.
Bloomberg Legislation obtained audio of the dispatch exercise.
“Unknown if it’s going to be a swatting state of affairs or not,” a dispatcher stated, in accordance with Bloomberg Legislation.
The Fairfax County police later confirmed that it thought that the decision was a swatting try.
Swatting entails making a false emergency report back to convey armed officers to a sufferer’s location.
In an emailed assertion, the Fairfax County police stated its officers “instantly coordinated with Supreme Court docket police personnel” at Barrett’s residence to find out that the report was a hoax.
