Kentucky invoice proposes employees’ comp enlargement for PTSD in first responders

Home Invoice 1228 creates a carveout to Kentucky’s long-standing rule that excludes psychological accidents from employees’ compensation protection until instantly attributable to bodily hurt. The invoice, which applies to law enforcement officials, firefighters, emergency medical personnel, front-line state employees, and Kentucky Nationwide Guard members, introduces a presumption of compensability for PTSD diagnoses stemming from job-related trauma.
